when guitar and drums blew me into sky

I used to close my ears and say 'this is not for me' when I used to hear electronic guitar and drums playing together.
It is Noise.. sheer noise. I said so. But slowly it came into me. I cant say when it happened. It might be when I read M.T.Vasudevan's Novel. Or is it when I used to sink in lonliness. Or just when  I was browsing myspace, lastfm  or watching Nikita.

We sometimes get surprised the way we get transformed into a shape that we never imagined we could be. In college I never thought I will be going to bangalore, my family will be in marathahali, or  i will be in mumbai in a room all alone typing blogs. Life's uncertainties always have made me curious. And thats how we never lose our interest in life.
Music tightly integrates in our life. Have you ever felt when you hear an ilayaraja song you just think of your nights on the terrace of your hostel.
The song ' kaadhal kavithaigal' from 'gopura vasalile' makes me remember about my trips to IBAB.

The bombay theme music makes me remember me and yogesh going out from annamalai university hostel at late night to chidambaram's tiny raliway station.

And now I think whenever Itihnk of mumbai metro train travels will think of Solstafir or porcupine tree.

Rock is a music genre  that  gives you  an experience that can never be filled by any other music genre. It somewhere twinges your neurons and sets you in a deep drowning mood. That is  what I have always felt. You go deep and deep and somewhere you fear complete blankness that you break up and come back.

I still cant hear a hardrock music more than two songs. After which it becomes sheer noise  again. :-(
But alternative Rock binds me more. May be because it slows down and comes back. It simply becomes a trickling stream and again a  forest flood. Thats why solstafir is my favorite. ((has anyone heard of this band?.. Unfortunately the dont have a brand name and they are not english).

I lose myself when steve vai' guitar gently weeps or led zeppelin beats the drum for kashmir. You feel so loud, so whole, so broken from chains. Thats what the music genre tries to convey. It says you are all alone in this big fucking world. Run, Run,Run.. Tear off your clothes, tear off your skin, rip off your nerves, throw your red boiling blood onto the onlookers' dirty dry faces, Blow your pumping heart into chunks of meat,Tear off your muscles, Tear off your soul, your shitty stinky soul. Go mad.. Madder than a drunken horse. Wilder than an angry lonely elephant. dance like a clueless zombie without any rhythm.  Get killed without  a single dripping  drop of mercy RUN......
This is ROCK..
